你知道time除了可以表示時間，還可以表示為時代、刑期、次數、拍子節奏等，除此之外更有許多片語讓大家霧煞煞，今天Joanna就將所有特殊的用法一次整理給大家喔!(諺語idioms的部份另外會寫一篇文章)
1. all the time 不停、一直
I wish you'd stop criticizing me all the time.
我希望你別再不停的批評我。
* all the time固定放句尾喔
2. in no time 馬上、立刻
If you learn English with Joanna, you will be an English master in no time.
如果你跟Joanna一起學英文，你馬上就會變成英文大師啦!!
3. no time to lose 沒時間耽擱
Come on, there's no time to lose, we have to get home before midnight.
趕快，沒有時間耽擱了，我們必須在午夜前趕到家。
4. for all time 總是
I will love you for all time.
我會永遠愛你。
5. of all time 有史以來
He's been called the greatest writer of all time.
他被稱為有史以來最偉大的作家。
6. run out of time 時間不夠
She ran out of time and didn't finish the paper.
她時間不夠，因此考卷沒寫完。
*可用進行式表示時間快要用完了
7. be (all) out of time 沒有足夠的時間
I'd like to continue this discussion but we're all out of time.
我很想繼續這討論，但我們沒有足夠的時間。
8. time's up 時間到了
OK, everyone, time's up for this week.
好了，各位，這星期的課就上到這裡 (表示下周才會再上課了)
9. have/take time off 抽出時間
I asked my boss if I could have some time off (from work) to go to the dentist.
我問老闆我能不能抽出一些時間去看牙醫。
10. for the time being 暫時、暫且
Leave the ironing for the time being - I'll do it later.
暫且放一放燙衣服的工作——我晚些來燙。
11. at the time 在當時
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
在當時這似乎是個好主意。
12. at the same time 在同時
We arrived at the same time. 我們同時到達
13. at one’s time of life 在…這樣的年紀
At his time of life, he ought to be taking things easy.
以他現在的年紀，他應要能夠看開點了。
* take things easy 代表看開點、別太認真的意思
14. in time及時
If we don't hurry up, we won't be in time to catch the train.
如果我們拖拖拉拉的，就不能及時趕上火車。
15. on time 準時
My parents always get home right on time.
我的父母總是準時到家。
16. ahead of time 提前
Let's meet for lunch. I'll call you ahead of time to decide exactly when and where.
我們見面吃個午飯吧。我會提前打電話跟你定時間和地點。
17. about time 早該
It's about time (that) the school improved its food service.
學校早該改善膳食服務。
* 影集中常常提到: It’s about time. 解釋為 終於!!!
18. from time to time 偶爾、有時
From time to time I still think of her.
我偶爾還會想起她。
19. time after time 一次又一次
Time after time, she gets involved in relationships with the wrong men.
她一次次地與錯的男人陷入情感糾葛。
20. at all times 一直、總是
When you're at the airport, you should make sure you have your luggage with you at all times.在機場，要把行李一直帶在你身邊。
21. at (any) one time 每次；任何時候
Only a certain number of people are allowed in the building at any one time.該建築任何時候都只允許一定數量的人員在內。
22. at times 有時
You can be really annoying at times, you know.你知道的，你有時很欠揍。
23. at any time 在任何時候
Parking is not allowed here at any time.
這裡任何時候都不得停車。
24. the times多次
The times I've told you, ask before you borrow my clothes.
我已經告訴你許多次了，在借用我的衣服之前要先問一聲。
25. at one time 過去；一度
At one time, Mozart lived here.
莫札特曾一度住在這裡。
26. ahead of one’s time 領先時代的，超越時代的
He’s theory was ahead of his time, so little accepted it.
他的理論是超越他的時代的，所以沒什麼人能接受。
27. before sb's time在…出生前；在…記事前
I don’t know anything the Beatles - they were before my time.
我對披頭四樂隊完全不了解——那是我出生前的事。
28. do time 服刑
It's not always easy to find a job after you've done time.
出獄後要找到工作可不容易。
